About us

A Romanian company committed to the energy transition

Nordenergo is a fully Romanian-owned private company, established in 2016 and operating in Brașov County. We built our experience in the commercial operation of thermal energy production capacities – an activity we continue to this day.

Today, our core business is electricity storage. We invest in battery storage systems that give the grid flexibility.

We work with local partners, comply with the applicable regulations and build for the long term, one step at a time.

Core activity

Electricity storage

We develop and operate grid-connected battery energy storage systems (BESS). Energy is stored when there is a surplus and delivered back to the system when it is needed.

Thermal energy

We continue the commercial operation of thermal energy production capacities – the activity that underpins our operational experience in the energy sector.

Grid flexibility

Our storage capacities support the balancing of the national power system, reduce demand peaks.

Flagship project

IS Nordenergo – battery energy storage system, Brașov

Under development

We are building a battery-based electricity storage installation on the CET Brașov Industrial Platform, right next to existing electrical infrastructure. The system connects to the local distribution network and will be able to both absorb energy from and deliver it back to the national grid.

Wholesale energy market transparency

In accordance with Article 4 of Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT), as amended, market participants are required to publicly disclose, in an effective and timely manner, the inside information they hold, through an Inside Information Platform (IIP).
